The Biggest Queen Ever Floated Into Sydney
In a clear summer sky, on a bus service to work, something tells me to look up. There it was Queen Mary 2 is being craved by a plane. It dawned to me that the Big Queen has arrived.
What is so special about QM2 to
Australia? Too lazy to do a personal research, I rely on the news
buletin which I saw on pay tv to tell you that it is pretty 'big'
thing. The first QM was built to carry foot soldiers to war. So did
Queen Elizabeth Vessel and both were in Sydney on 4 April 1941. And
they were both in Sydney again yesterday (21 Feb 06). It was a
histrorical moment with the Australians very patriotic on their fallen
soldiers and vets alike - the presence of the former war transport
vessels do carry strong sense of nationalism.
Apart from sense of nationalism, the sheer size of QM2 and QE fuelled horde of Sydnesiders with great interest and thousands packed the waterfront to catch glimpses of the biggest queens. Chaos ensued - traffic choked bumper to bumper, public busses no where to be seen, train melt down - something KL poeple can relate to.

dude, you are a crack-up!!! very funny and entertaining blog :)
